In case you decided to travel China we suggest that you visit one of the most popular among tourists city Guangzhou. Guangzhou is the capital city of province of Guandong situated in the south part of China. Its location determines its climate and weather in China. The period between April and August is rainy. Summer is always warm and Augusts is the hottest month. Among three winter months January is the coldest.
There are three top sightseeings and attractions in Guangzhou: Chen Family Ancestral Temple, Temple of Six Banyan Trees and Yuexiu Park.
Chen Family Ancestral Temple
It's a gorgeous octangle-shaped edifice. The Hall is considered to be a symbolic construction of Chinese nation but at the same time this building is used for important meetings and performances.
Temple of Six Banyan Trees
Temple of Six Banyan Trees is one of the four Buddhism temples build during Liang Dynasty. There are three major buildings in the Temple: Kwan-Yin Hall, Flower Pagoda and Liu Zu Hall. Flower Pagoda is one of the best places to see the panorama of Guangzhou. It's made of wood and brick and is situated in the centre of Pagoda. The Hall of Liu Zu is placed in the Banyan Garden and comprises the bronze statue of Zen - Huineng and three bronze Buddha statues.
Yuexiu Park
Yuexiu Park is famous for Zhenhai Tower and the Sculpture of the Five Rams Five Rams and Square Cannon Site . Zhenhai Tower is on the top of Yuexiu Hill it's 28 meter high and that's why it's a perfect place to view the whole panorama of Guangzhou. Inside the tower you can find the City Museum, which represents the history of Guangzhou. Yuexiu Park attracts the visitors not only by its ancient relics but also by its marvellous park, art museum, several artificial lakes and swimming pool.
Moving around the city
Among the means of transport which you can use to move around Guangshou while you travel China are underground, taxi, ferry or bike.
Underground
Guangshou underground is a very well developed system. It's fast and convenient way to move around the city, besides all the schedules and signs are in English for visitors not to get lost.
Taxi
In case the underground is overcrowded in peak hours or you are in hurry, you can always take a taxi. The price is always in the corner of the rear left or right side window. It's really inconvenient, that's why study the pictures carefully before you hire a taxi. Notice: 1) very few Chinese drivers speak English; 2) during lunch and dinner hours its very difficult to hire a taxi in Guangshou, because these are peak hours.
And finally if you do not hire a cab anywhere and want to see the city yourself, hire a bicycle and enjoy pleasant trip. |
